Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek win the doubles title

19 February 2023

Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek have won the doubles title at the 50th edition of the ABN AMRO Open.  The pair captured the crown in Rotterdam Ahoy in a gripping final against double’s pair Rohan Bopanna/Matthew Ebden: 7-6 (5), 2-6, 12-10.

The 38-year-old Croatian Ivan Dodig, who gave his racket to a spectator after the last point, was relieved as ever after a climactic ending in a nail-biting tiebreaker in the deciding set. After his 2017 victory with the Spaniard Marcel Granollers, Dodig celebrates a second title on Ahoy. 'We were the luckiest and happiest today.  I like coming to Rotterdam, because here there is always a large audience in the stands who also understand tennis.’

With Austin, Rotterdam Ahoy now also has the 'Krajicek' name on the doubles’ ring of champions.'I think in the future people will think that Richard Krajicek made his comeback in 2023.  I played here for the second time, but hope to play in Rotterdam often in the future.  By the way, the name Krajicek is really a unique name in America.’ Tournament director Richard Krajicek won the singles in 1995 and 1997.

The experienced doubles specialist Rohan Bopanna (42) played for the eleventh time in the doubles of the ABN AMRO Open.  'I was finally in the final once in Rotterdam. Now I need to come back one more time to win this tournament.’
