Ivan Dodig/Austin Krajicek : the only seeded double left in semifinal battle

17 February 2023

It takes some getting used to, but this year there will not be a single Dutch player in the doubles semifinal of the ABN AMRO Open. Both Dutch pairs Botic van de Zandschulp/Tallon Griekspoor and defending champions Robin Haase/Matwé Middelkoop, as well as Wesley Koolhof along with his British doubles partner Neal Skupski were eliminated in the opening round.

In total, three of the four seeded doubles have already left Rotterdam Ahoy. However, the third seeded double Ivan Dodig/Austin Krajicek reached the semi finals. The now 38-year-old Ivan Dodig holds fond memories of Rotterdam's Centre Court, since the Croat won the doubles in 2017 together with Spaniard Marcel Granollers.

Dodig and Krajicek will close Saturday evening session in a battle against Belgian qualifiers Sander Gillé and Joran Vliegen. The penultimate day of ABN AMRO Open's 50th-anniversary edition will start at 1 p.m. with the other semifinal match between the German duo Kevin Krawietz/Tim Puetz against Indian veteran Rohan Bopanna and Australian Matthew Ebden.
