World number 1 Daniil Medvedev enters 50th ABN AMRO Open

The number 1 in the world, Daniil Medvedev, participates in the 50th ABN AMRO Open in February next year. The 2021 US Open winner enters for the fifth time in Rotterdam Ahoy. The tournament is held from 11 to 19 February 2023.

Tournament Director Richard Krajicek: "We are proud to announce the number one in the world. We are very happy to welcome him again in Rotterdam, especially for our anniversary edition. It's great that we succeeded, just before he defends his title in New York."

The current number one in the world will start his mission to win the US Open title again on Monday. Along with winning the Nitto ATP Finals in 2020, the 2021 US Open was the pinnacle of his career so far. In total he has already won fourteen titles, all but one on hard court, the surface that is also used in the ABN AMRO Open.

Since June of this year, Medvedev has been the number one in the world. A place he already had for a while in February. The 26-year-old has been in the ATP top 10 for three consecutive years.

Daniil Medvedev has played in Rotterdam four times before. In 2018, he made his debut with a quarter-final spot, after getting through the qualifying tournament. In 2019 he achieved his best result, with a spot in the semi-finals. He lost to tournament winner Gaƫl Monfils.

The 50th ABN AMRO Open will be held from 11 to 19 February 2023. All information about the tournament can be found at abnamro-open.nl.
