Holger Rune fourth top-10 player at 51st ABN AMRO OPEN

Holger Rune, the current number eight in the world, will play in the ABN AMRO Open in 2024. The twenty-year-old Dane is present in Rotterdam for the second time. He is already the fourth player from the global top 10 to confirm his arrival. The 51st ABN AMRO Open will be held in Rotterdam Ahoy from 10 to 18 February 2024.

Tournament director Richard Krajicek: "In my opinion, Holger Rune is one of the players we will see structurally in the top 5 in the coming years. A potential Grand Slam winner. It is therefore great that he has now chosen to come to the ABN AMRO Open again. He combines sublime technique with an absolute will to win. That makes it a pleasure to watch him.”

Four titles

As a twenty-year-old, Holger Rune has already won four ATP titles. This year he won the Munich tournament and reached the final in the ATP1000 tournaments in Rome and Monte Carlo. It temporarily took him to the fourth place in the ATP rankings. He therefore belongs to a new generation of players in their early twenties, who seem to be taking over from the previous generation.

Richard Krajicek: "Rune is a player feared by the entire world elite. Every player who is in the top eight of the world with him has already lost to him at least once. For me, that is why he is immediately one of the title favourites in Rotterdam.”

Players

After Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner and Andrey Rublev, Holger Rune is the fourth player from the top-10 of the ATP Ranking to enter the ABN AMRO Open. Former winner Felix Auger-Aliassime has also announced he will be participating. The players list will be further expanded in the coming months. As usual, the goal is to attract several top players. Richard Krajicek: "We love the battle between the established order and the new top talents. This way we can offer fans top tennis every day of the tournament.”

ABN AMRO Open

The 51st ABN AMRO Open will be held from February 10 to 18, 2024. In addition to top tennis, the tournament also offers a lot of 'On Top of Tennis'. Visitors are invited to combine nine days of top tennis with all kinds of business opportunities, culinary experiences and sporting and social initiatives.
