The Carota Boys are in Town : Ahoy welcomes four fantastic fans

17 February 2024

Jannik Sinner's gesture after the last point in his semi-final against Tallon Griekspoor may have been ordinary. But here’s a shout-out to four special Italian fans in the stands. The quartet is known worldwide: The Carota Boys. Dressed in bright carrot costumes, you can call the band Jannik Sinner's official fan club. These childhood friends had no complaints about popularity in Rotterdam Ahoy.

The Italians wear orange from head to toe and are therefore always very recognisable. Had they charged a euro for every picture they took, they could have come back as very rich men from their trip to The Netherlands. 'For us, it was a fourteen-hour drive,’ they say during a game change. 'We all have a job, so you have to choose the tournaments you go to. We left from the Turin area last night and arrived in Rotterdam around noon. The big advantage is that we sleep in the hotel next to Ahoy. After a few refreshments, we reached the stadium with plenty of time to spare.’ The Carota Boys will cheer on their hero again today at the final. 'We will only be satisfied with a tournament victory for Jannik Sinner.’
