Wildcard for Jesper de Jong
03 February 2024Jesper de Jong, number 139 in the world, receives a wildcard for the ABN AMRO Open. The 23-year-old De Jong, who qualified for the Australian Open last month, is the third Dutchman in the main draw.
Tournament director Richard Krajicek: "We are happy that we can now quickly provide Jesper with clarity, so that he can properly prepare for the ABN AMRO Open. It was already our intention to give him the wildcard, but we still had to wait and see if it became available. Now that that is the case, we are pleased that we will see not two but three Dutch players in action in the main tournament.”
The wildcard for Jesper de Jong was originally offered to Hamad Medjedovic. However, the winner of the Next Gen ATP Finals had to wihdraw due to illness. For De Jong, this participation marks his debut in the main draw of the ABN AMRO Open.
