After Kids Day, Time for NextGen Day

06 February 2025

On Wednesday when thousands of young children came to the ABN AMRO Open knowing exactly how to make themselves heard on and off the court. After a very successful Kids Day it’s time for NextGen Day at Ahoy.

The generation born just before the younger 'kids' will also have a great program of their own on Thursday. Just like last year, with tennis as the main common denominator. Not only for the dozens of student associations who can watch the performances of the slightly older tennis pros on centre court in the evening, often with a beer within reach.

Earlier in the day, pupils and students from secondary schools, MBO, HBO, and WO institutions will also be able to follow a special subject-specific or sports program in Ahoy. And it doesn't always have to be about tennis. This time, there will even be a presentation by Ernst Broekhorst, who will be speaking about the gold medal won by the Dutch hockey players at the Olympic Games. Pupils and students will also have the opportunity to attend a group clinic by Dutch top trainers at Sports Plaza, in the hall next to the centre court. The aim of the ABN AMRO Open’s organisers is clear: to link education with sports for the next generation.
