#NextGen Day
Visit the ABN AMRO Open 2024 with your students!
Especially for high school students, it will be #NextGen Day on Thursday 16 February 2023. In addition to watching the tennis stars on the centre court of Rotterdam Ahoy, we will offer a special professional or sports programme that day. Students of (sports) classes at high schools and students of MBO, HBO or WO (sports) studies will visit the largest tennis tournament in the Netherlands at a substantial discount.
Programme
Within the programme, students will receive a presentation by a recognised sports expert about the ABN AMRO Open specifically and sports marketing in general. The speaker is currently not known yet, but during previous editions, high-profile sports marketing and event professionals such as Sietse Bakker (Eurovision Song Contest), Jan de Jong (Director Eredivisie), Anita Elberse (Professor of Harvard Business School) and Iwan Spekenbrink (CEO of Team DSM) gave a presentation during #NextGen Day.
After this, students will be given a behind-the-scenes tour where they will get an insight into what is involved in organising a major sporting event like the ABN AMRO Open. The entire subject-based programme will take around 45 to 60 minutes.

SPORTS PROGRAMME
A second option is to choose for a sporty interpretation of the programme on #NextGen Day. The Laurense Tennis Academy, co-founded by top Dutch coach Sven Groeneveld, former coach of Esther Vergeer and Maria Sharapova, among others, will offer a 45-minute group clinic on one of the tournament's tennis courts. If the Thursday times are fully booked, the sports programme will also be offered on other days. Contact will be made about this.
WHAT IS #NEXTGEN DAY?
- Especially for students from high school sports classes, MBO, HBO or WO sports studies
- Group size of at least 20 students + supervisors per group (registering with multiple groups is possible)
- Cost per ticket only € 21,50 (normal rate € 43.50 incl. service charge) per person (incl. VAT and booking fee)
- In addition to grandstand tickets to watch the matches on the centre court, the choice of the professional or sports programme

Only a limited number of tickets are available for students. Tickets can only be purchased by a high school, MBO, HBO or WO schools. While stocks last and the Rotterdam Ahoy box office reserves the right to refuse applications. Only after payment of the invoice is the reservation final. Paid tickets are non-refundable. Tickets will be shared in advance via our Close app, after which they can be distributed to students.
